Message the rebuild the oil rings were done properly. This in turn led to oil consumption (oil getting past rings into combustion chamber) and along with that comes problems. Oil in the combustion chamber alter the gas/air combo and increases the threat of detonation. That along with the excessive carbon buildup on the piston crowns leads to hot spots, increased compression ratio and hence, detonation.

The fact that I had a most likely small HG leak in my opinion was possibly caused by the mechanic who helped me put the heads back on, never changed the TTY head bolts and re-used them for a thrid time. When the detonation was taking place on a consistant basis, the excessive pressure might have lifted the heads ever so slightly because with the stretched bolts, the torque values weren't correct.

The things in this post (WG bracket with no screw) I dunno. I just noticed one day I had lag, but no exhaust leaks so I thought it was a base WG issue. Holes in the mani's....couldn't tell you. RichZ did the honing of them so I have not had them off the turbos to have ever seen them.
